Frequently Asked Questions

What type of adjustments does the chiropractor do? Are they safe?

Our techniques are completely different from traditional chiropractic adjustments.

We utilize a blend of Atlas Orthogonal (Upper Cervical) technique and Activator Methods (a hand held  instrument technique).  This combination of chiropractic style allows the chiropractor to be very specific, gentle and effective.  There is no twisting or“popping” of the neck.  The doctor is an expert at restoring the proper motion and position of your vertebrae.

Every health care procedure, from taking cough medicine to donating blood, involves a level of risk.  Chiropractic adjustments are among the safest of all health care interventions because they are non-surgical, drug-free and present an extremely low risk.

Are the Atlas Orthogonal (Upper Cervical) and Activator Techniques effective?

Yes, these techniques are safe and effective.

More scientific evidence is proving that Atlas Orthogonal (Upper Cervical) and Activator Techniques are safe and effective for treating low back pain, neck pain, headaches and other conditions involving the spine.

Based on scientific studies, the consensus is growing that chiropractic care is the treatment of choice for most spinal problems.  There are certain factors that are taken into consideration from person to person depending on your problem and how long it has existed.  Some people experience relief quite quickly while others take a bit longer.

Why should I see a chiropractor that uses Atlas Orthogonal (Upper Cervical) and Activator Techniques?

People of all ages and body types, see chiropractors not only for spinal problems, but many other conditions as well.  A lot of people find that regular visits to their chiropractor keep them performing in great condition.

We get regular dental checks for our teeth, optometrist checks on our eyes and our medical doctor for our blood pressure and heart checks.  But we can take the spine, a very crucial part of our body and overall health, for granted.  Regular checks on your spine by our chiropractor can improve your life and maintain better health.  Call us today!

What can I expect from my first visit to Canning Chiropractic Office?

As a licensed practitioner, the chiropractor will do the following:

  • A thorough review of your specific problem, a review of your health history and overall health
  • A physical exam that detects the presence of mis-alignments of the spine (subluxations)
  • If needed, specific x-rays may be used to confirm the history and exam findings and identify spinal alignment issues

Once the physical exam is completed, at the next visit, the chiropractor will analyze the results, make a diagnosis and recommend treatment options if the chiropractor identifies you can benefit from care.  If not, he will make an appropriate referral.

Care options will take into consideration your general health, occupation, stress and activity levels.

The chiropractor will monitor your response to treatment and assess for improvements in your daily function and overall health

There are three areas where chiropractic care is effective, Relief Care, Corrective Care and Maintenance/Wellness Care.

Through the phases of care, the chiropractor will utilize exercises, nutrition and lifestyle considerations to enhance the care you receive.

What results can I expect from treatment?

Every body is different, but a better functioning body leads to a better life.  The benefits show particularly in how you feel and function at work, at home and with recreation.  The length of time you have had the problem, your age and the degree that the condition is disabling all affect the length and expectations of treatment.  One of the many reasons people choose chiropractic care is that they often get results quite quickly.

How much will my chiropractic care cost?

We always strive to give you the best service that we can, and that includes making considerations for your personal finances. We will communicate any costs associated with your care and financial options we offer before moving forward.  We also welcome you to bring in your health insurance card to see if you have any chiropractic benefits coverage.

Do you take my insurance?

Due to the number of insurance companies and the number of plans within each company, we ask that you bring a copy of your insurance card with you so that we can help determine your available benefits in our office.
